Infopeople, a well-respected provider of training for library employees in California, has online courses that are available to library employees anywhere, anytime.
Registrations are now being taken for CORE Reference Fundamentals, an online learning experience targeted to those who are new to reference service or who need refresher training in how to do an effective reference interview and use basic print and Web-based reference sources.
CORE Reference Fundamentals covers: reference interviews and open questions, patron confidentiality and access to information, basics of indexing and databases, and evaluating reference tools.
Infopeople is an approved provider for the Western Council Library Practitioner Certification Program. This course meets all competencies for Reference and Information Services.
This six-week online course starts April 21. Cost is $75 for those in the California library community and Infopeople partners, $150 for all others.
